Re: I wanted the Diamond until the Touch HD- much much better IMHO
Had my Mogul for over a year now. Took quite a few months to get the GPS running and many more to get the memory issues corrected. The Diamond is a nice incremental upgrade. I would love to wait for the HD but I cannot see continuing the rom dance that I have started with the Mogul.
If there are less immediate bugs in the Diamond, I think the upgrade will be worth it vs waiting another 6 months to a year for the HD. Remember, by then many more phones will be out or pending release and the HD may not be as remarkable as it seems today. |

Edit: I did not say that the HD will come with WM7. All i'm saying is that the HD will pave the way to bigger and better screen sizes. Last edited by jethro_static; 09-11-2008 at 09:52 PM. |

Re: I wanted the Diamond until the Touch HD- much much better IMHO
Let me introduce you to my carrier - Sprint - they don't really like new things. Technology scares them. They don't like bleeding edge technology, they don't like cutting edge technology, and they don't like offering firmware updates to their old technology even when it is being released by them as "new". They don't really like testing equipment before they sell it but they like to hold onto it a very long time before they release it so they can say they were testing it. I was told by a Sprint engineer they had the HTC Diamond in January (they may have had it sooner but he was aware his group had it for testing in January). It took them 9 months to put a red back on it, add some junkware and release it. Granted, it does have a thicker battery to handle the demands of CDMA but I'm pretty sure I could have had any electrical engineer calculate battery life without ever having physically touched the diamond.

Well they did a good job with the Diamond technology wise. I kinda like the backing, and a ROM upgrade should get rid of the theme. By the way, in case I ever need to switch plans, what CDMA provider does like technology?
