okay so i got my mogul 3.5mm adapt from Seidio the other day..

and it's awesome. im using my $12 sony earphones, quality is just as good as all of my mp3 players(ipod nano, samsung). the adapter snaps in and stays in, no problems what so ever..

but using WMP or pPod is getting old. what i usually do is use WMP, play the song, go back to my today screen, put it on the media player tab, lock, then put it in my pocket.

so...

a.) has anyone come up with a better way to utilize the mogul as an mp3 player? maybe something along the lines of not even having to lock the device, being able to just pull the phone out to switch songs/adjust volume

b.) is there a way i can set one of the side buttons to an instant device lock key?

oh and big props to seidio, quick shipping awesome adapter

Try pocketplayer...it does crossfading as well as visualizations, and auto-off's the screen after a set time.

You might want to look into the VJDeviceLock. I used this on the 6700 I had, but haven't installed it on the 6800. I was able to map a hard key to this application and lock the device. It looks like it also has an option to lock the device and turn off the screen.

I haven't tried any other players, since all my music is subscription and I've heard varied results with getting it to play with other players.

if youre looking for the simplest/least "bulky" method to get to use 3.5mm earphones, this is def the way to go. my biggest concern was if the adapter would keep popping out, and it doesnt its a very secure fit

im not really looking to turn of the screen, but just to be able to lock/unlock it when something like WMP is running (the prog not the tab on the today screen) so i could just pull it out and unlock

Sorry I forgot to include the link to the application, but it will lock your device like you do when you hit the lock on the today screen.

I hope this is what you were looking for.

The one listed here provides a REGULAR (3.5mm) headphone jack. The one that is included is for a 2.5mm jack. Try plugging a pair of regular headphones into it and see what I mean.
