Sound randomly being completely disabled

I've had my mogul for ~ 2 weeks now and have had this occur on multiple occasions. Vibration alerts work but no sound will play (outside of a telephone call) on the device at all. Most importantly ringer does not ring, but nothing will play via Windows Media Player either. The only way to re-enable sound on the device is a soft reset.

The first time I noticed this occurring the only non factory apps installed were SPB Mobile Shell and SPB Phone Suite. Thinking one of those might be responsible, I uninstalled both but the problem still occured.

Has anyone else come across this or know of a solution? Should I do a hard reset and run with it for a few days to see if it re-occurs?

I tried searching but have found no mention of this in previous threads, but if it has been addressed please point me in the right direction.

hm sometimes if i'm playing a game and I go to get a drink or something and come back, the power saver kicks in and the phone will be off. When I turn it back on and resume playing, the sound doesnt work until i quit the game and softboot.

Yup, was fixed with a software update. I really don't remember what the version number was, most likely the last update before 6.1. If you are not getting sound even after a soft reset might try a hard reset. If you get nothing after a hard reset you probably have a defective device and should contact sprint.

G'luck
