Donation sent. Wasn't sure how to specify that the donation was for Helmi_c, so I put the item in PalPal as "Helmi_c 6800 Upgrade Fund". Is that sufficient?

Can't wait for Helmi_c to crack into a 6800.

Great idea guys.

The mogul is severely locked-down so it may take a while to learn its charms. I fully believe helmi can do it, but there is never a guarantee (and I doubt helmi would accept such a donation if it came with strings attached).

So please donate with the hopes (but not the expectation) that helmi will crack it--he's certainly got a better chance of doing so than any of the rest of us. :)

Why now??? :) j/k This is a great idea, just hope I can fork out some dough for this.

As i am in India i can not Pay more Because of our Credit Card Limitation in India.

( The Radio Version used is very Secure can not play with EFS Explorer the way we used to do in PPC6700. ROM Dump is also not Succefull!!! )

Incedently I am second to another Indian, my friend hetal. WM6 is great effort. I was thinking now its the end of life cycle of 6700 but it will survive for another 2 years due to helmi's efforts. Sent my gesture.

Yes, mogul is new stuff, and takes a massive work to learn how things work in it...and what luv2chill/dan said is correct, no string attached.. but sure, I will love to do it, I love to hack stuff anyway...

I have a mogul I can give him for 400 shipped. Brand new in the box and never touched. It would keep everyone from having to donate the full retail cost of the device.

He should rather order it through Amazon for $99 and pay the ETF later which is $150.

ETF on sprint is 150. If you are paying 179.99 from Amazon for the phone, and the instant rebate doesnt come back for 2 mo's. You have 2 mo's of service at a 34.99 plan or higher for the rebate to even be valid.

Thats $180 + $150 + an $80 plan (without taxes). $410+. Then you have to rely on Sprint actually sending the rebate as a check and not a service credit, or even at all.

I was just offering a no-rebate, no service required, buy the phone out-right and own it option. It was only a suggestion, if Helmi or a Mod contacts me personally I may be able to work out a better price.

umm yeah, would the mogul need to be activated? because someone with insurance could just file a claim pay their $50.

Interesting...I lost my Apache a while ago as was able to have it sent unactivated as I activated another phone, so I think it can be sent unactivated... :mrgreen:

I've also donated to him recently for the WM6 Apache project!

Well, I just sent $20.00. If everyone who has benefitted from Helmi's work could do even $5.00, he'd have that Mogul in no time.

I actually lost mine (6800) and got a replacement. I happened to find it a few days later and have no problem giving the one I lost to him for this project. Just tell me where it needs to go. :) It powers up and works with no issue just it will not be able to be activated on the network.

Someone get his guy an address to ship the phone ASAP........

I believe Wideawake arranged the shipping for Helmi's Apache originally, so you should probably contact him about it. :)

No problem, but heck I figured someone would have told me where to send the thing by now.

I sent helmi_c a PM and asked him to contact you regarding your generous donation.

No problem guys, like i said I got a replacement for it (work covers my phone) and it turned up after I had already got the replacement. I guess it isn't a big deal that it has been flagged as lost in Sprints system? I would also guess there is a way around that minor issue. LOL I just hope this helps get us all closer to a better device. Best of luck to Helmi_C!!! Also thanks to all of you guys that donated to the cause and also the ones who have helped get in contact with Helmi_C so I can get this phone to him. Lets keep our fingers crossed.
