Re: Please help! Activesync stuck on looking for changes
Try toggling Advanced Network Functionality
If that doesn't help, uninstall activesync. Then go see if activesync left any files and delete them. Then reinstall activesync.

Re: Please help! Activesync stuck on looking for changes
Hi. That didn't work, either. When reinstalling ActiveSync, it says the thing about not having a default mail handler, to make Outlook the default. Outlook Express is set to be the default. Even if I change it to Outlook, though, it still doesn't work.

Re: Please help! Activesync stuck on looking for changes
Are you getting any sort of error code?
also to confirm your using Activesync 4.5 right? lastly, any firewalls enabled? Last edited by gTen; 08-07-2009 at 04:57 PM. |

Re: Please help! Activesync stuck on looking for changes
No error code. It just hangs on the "looking for changes," and finally it will just say it couldn't synchronize. I do have ZoneAlarm, but I've made all the changes recommended by Microsoft, and I've also just shut it down. I have Windows firewall turned off.

Re: Please help! Activesync stuck on looking for changes
How about try disabling what ActiveSync syncs by default and then add them 1 by one to see if maybe something is causing it to hang.
also you can try removing the SD card if you have one then doing a sync. Last edited by gTen; 08-07-2009 at 05:04 PM. |

I tried it with the card out. No go. I also tried it with no categories selected, and it still hangs up.

Re: Please help! Activesync stuck on looking for changes
hmm...did you restart your computer yet after any of the reinstalls?
Also, check out the Windows Logs to see if there is any hints there. |

Re: Please help! Activesync stuck on looking for changes
Yes, I've restarted it many times.
Hmm. I looked at the performance logs before. When I went to check this time, the service was disabled, as were some other services that should have been set to automatic. Do you know if there are any services in particular that ActiveSync depends on? I'll Google it. |
