Well, there ya go. Sounds like a bug to me. Someone experiencing the problem should report the details to HTC America so it can be fixed.

i've had same problem...i was actually able to see the HTC home plugin...and i had been wondering why is the square still on the screen when its in standby...it was too soon for it to be a burn-in...but i've hard reset my phone multiple times and installed/uninstalled multiiple programs so i dont know what exactly is doing it

Mine was only visible in complete darkness. The only way you could tell is when you finally turn it off the screen is completely black and you see the difference. The thing is that if you were walking around all day and your backlight was leaking like that in standby and you didn't notice, your battery doesn't have a chance. Like I said, I don't have this issue anymore thank god.

my problem was solved after i removed weatherpanel because it kept trying to update for the weather but couldnt and my battery was draining within an hour..is there anyfix behind this ? cause i do like the weatherpanel program alot.

Google maps leaves the screen on while it's running so that you don't have to keep turning the phone back on to look at driving directions.

There is a weatherpanel auth fix, which fixes the server auth problem.

For a short time, WP was killing my battery in a few hours because it was checking the server 24/7. Now WP works fine for me.

I've had that happen to me once. It scared the hell out of me because i though it was a burn-in. However I think the real issue with battery is a software issue. Try this, let your battery run down to about 30 or less percent. Do a soft reset and you'll probably notice a 10 to 20 percent increase.
I use to do this with my T-Mobile MDA and XDA and I'd get about 5 to 10 percent increase in batt stregth after a soft reset but never this much.

Just got this from an old Tips & Trick for PPC6700 (works for my XV6700), but who knows it worked on Titan too.
I got it from http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/ppc-6...mpilation.html

Active Sync Solution to Battery Drain Problem

think I have a solution to the Battery drain problem with the XV6700 PDA phone. It looks like Ative sync is trying to come on and sync draining the power from our units. Talked to a verizon tech. who provided the available info. Hope it helps. Sure has been an irritant not being able to trust my phone. Here's the instructions:

Go to program files
Go to active sync
Go to menu
Go to add server source (add a fake server and settings)
Once that is finished
Go to Schedule and set to manual
Go to options and delete exchange server from options

Working good so far. For the first time I have had 90% power all day long. Always before it would go down to 60% power or less in one day with no phone calls or gaming.

Please note that some have reported this "trick" is not compatible with the NEW Sprint AKU2/MSFP Rom update. Others have reported it works with the ROM update if you turn off the network time sync under phone settings

EDIT : In my opinion the safe way is to close/kill activesync every time ppc unpluged from usb/desktop or whenever after softreset.

no offense but i think this is irrelevant. ive never changed that setting and ive previously had the issue, and it went away. the issue here is not the light dimly coming on when a button is pressed.
