I love i-Blue 737 HERE

The most I like it is that it has bluetooth auto connect when paired signal is detected and go to sleep when the signal is gone. Great feature so that you do not have to worry about switch the receiver off all the time. Another plus is that it uses Nokia battery so you do not have to worry about odd size spare. It is very sensitive and the connection is very fast since it has a better sleep mode than most on the market.

thanks for all your recommendation on GPS, but I am confused....what do I actually need? a GPS navigator and a bluetooth GPS receiver?

I am a retard when it comes to technologies, I like to have all the latest gadgets, and yet, know nothing about them..... :-(

You will need a GPS receiver, preferably bluetooth, and Navigation software. Now, for the software you'll get just as many opinions on which one is best as there are different vendors out there.
Personally I use iGuidance 4.0. Some people have issues with iGuidance closing on them as soon as you touch the screen. I had the same issues until I loaded the app directly into main memory instead of onto the Storage Card.
I've heard that TomTom works well but I've not used it.
The best advice I can give is, determine how much you have to spend on GPS technology and shop around for the best deals, you can normally get a better deal by purchasing a bundle (GPS receiver and software together) than you can if you purchase them separately.

Does tomtom6 say the actual street name when its giving turn by turn directions? For example does it say "turn right on Calvert Street"? I just bought the garmin mobile 10 and it only say "turn right" on the next street but doesn't actually say the street name. My Garmin Mobile 350 saids the street names as its giving me turn by turn directions. I feel this gives me a better sence of where I am and where I'm going.

Also on my standalone garmin 350 I can type in a busines name such as "Best Buy" and it will search for nearby stores. The garmin mobile 10 does not seem to have this feature, is it possible to do this on tomtom6?

Nope TomTom says "turn right in XX yards/miles/etc... and on TomTom some stores show up in the POI but not a lot. Best bet there is Google maps or Livesearch

hmm I see :(

I really like those features, maybe a standalone gps is the best option for me then, thanks.

Edit: iGuidance V4 seems to say the street names at its giving directions :P

I think a standalone GPS would be the best GPS option for me, coz i need it to tell me the name of the street when I make a turn.. unless there are GPS that says the street name for pocket pc.

Any ideas?

Wouldn't touch Tom Tom with a ten foot pole (friend used it and got horribly lost in Vermont in the middle of nowhere with no cell phone signal... kept telling him to make his next left, which was in reality a corn feild!).

I use mapopolis... its great, and it has a full speech synth (robotic voice reads all street names, etc). I'm actually rather surprised to hear that TomTom doesn't... mapopolis has been speaking for at least 5 years now.

Anyway, the catch is that mapopolis is no longer being sold to the public, since they were purchased by some other company who wants to use the technology for in-dash navigation.

Anyone who got in before the purchase can still access all the map updates and everything, and there's even a few loopholes to getting the maps free if you're inclined to look that sort of thing up online.

I love mapopolis, but if you can't get it there are many other options as well that I beleive will speak street names (I think iGuidance does, for one). It is my beleif that you are always better off doing it this way rather than a standalone GPS because you have this freedom of software- you can find an app that works the best for YOU (and with so many options you're bound to find one you like), whereas the standalone boxes are limited in that you're stuck with the software they give you.

Is anyone using OCN6? or heard about this software?

I chatted with someone on buy GPS Now, and he told me that only IGuidance 4 will say the name of the street that you are turning. He me recommanded OCN6. He also said that TomTom Navigator 6 and iGuidance 4 require about 15 to 20mb memory from the phone; OCN6 about 10 to 15Mb.

Any comment on these GPS?
