Every device has a legion of apologists like this. Everytime a new device comes out with significant problems and shortcomings (i.e. most of them), when people get together to discuss, vent, try to find solutions, or just do what we can to communicate to the manufacturers about what we think is wrong with their devices, a group of apologists appears to inexplicably defend the device as if it was a defenseless person.

The biggest thing they all have in common is the fallacy wherein a problem doesn't exist if they don't experience it themselves.

i.e. Bluetooth on the Mogul is great because it works with my headset, therefore the problem doesn't exist and you are all a bunch of whiners. Same goes for battery life, screen, speed, memory, usability, etc.

I have my own very detailed thoughts on the Mogul's failings, but I've learned it's mostly useless to discuss these things in forums like these, but I'll say this: there is NO reason you should have to learn to tolerate bad software design and mediocre hardware decisions.

Microsoft has had nearly a decade to work out hundreds of basic usability issues with Windows Mobile and they have done a horrible job of it. So has Palm with performance on PalmOS. I don't have anything against HTC but I am certainly ticked off by many of their design decisions. I think all these companies have thought their customers to keep their expectations very low, which eventually hurts no one else but the customers themselves.
Good post. That was my point exactly. Hopefully the OP will read your post and rethink his stance.

For the most part I agree with the OP. I had a 6700 as well, and stepping up to the Mogul was a vast improvement. BT is still spotty on the mogul, but on the 6700 it was, for all intents and purposes, useless. I bought many different headsets and never had any still connected and functioning properly after more than a couple of hours.
I loved my 6700 dearly and I was happy to see another come out with a decent spec bump.
The Mogul is far from perfection because it is vastly different device from a dedicated phone that most others use. This thing is a computer with a phone attached!

ok, so i'm the virgin here i guess....lol.....i just made the jump from your standard phone to the mogul around a month/maybe a month and a half ago.....afew tweaks that could be done to it, but overall a good investment in my opinion.....a little more than i wanted to spend out of pocket after my upgrade, but none the less a good investment.....was introduced to this site by an employee at radio shack because when i bought the phone from the sprint store, no one had any idea about the phone.....just joined the group a day or three ago and i am starting to get somewhat of a grasp on the phone...still have a long way to go, but catching on to the device.....i like the review big D gave....its like he said....something about a review coming from an average guy rather than a "self proclaimed ppc guru" sits better with me.....i have been going through threads left and right and i am relly just looking for some general knowledge right now.....some more to build on.....basically the best/most efficient set up for my phone will work for me.....you see, i am but just a mere commoner working a normal job and djing on the side to survive. i dont have all the buisness prerequisits i guess you could say in the typical stereotype for 8 out of 10 ppc owners, but just someone who wants something that can be updated and tweak to change as much with the times as possible....basically my moneys spent worth and something that is going to last me for awhile. d...i would love to get up with you and discuss a couple things.....get in touchif it's not too much of a hassel......sorry for the whole "new guy syndrome"
