Beep when hitting start after rom update

So my phone was becoming too sluggish and I updated my rom to nueROM-M. Everything went well until I started using the phone.

Everytime I hit the start button I hear a little beep, or when I open a file menu, like in IE, there is a little beep again. If i uncheck "Enable sounds for events (warnings, system events)" in sounds and notifications the beeping goes away but then so dont my alerts for texts among other things. In the event drop down menu, there is no option to specifically turn off the beeping.

It is getting really annoying and I do not understand why it is happening, but I cannot find it anywhere in the registry and I hope one of you guys has a solution.
