Re: No Data, No Pic Msging, No Smartphone Plan

Do you have data blocked on the account? If so this is the problem. Use pay per kb for pic messaging. The phone has to be able to dial a data connection to send or receive the message. You won't be billed for data usage because the sever will see the usage as pic messaging. You will only be billed if you account is pay per pic message.

Just a thought...not really sure though.

I was thinkin along the same lines as i drifted off to sleep last nite. Perhaps the way "smartphones" and the way "regular" phones like the scoop get MMS is different. Im not very knowledgeable (wow that word looks funny spelled rite) in the ways of cell technology. But i wonder if the smartphone uses the data connection to get the mms by loging into your "dataplan" whereas the regular phones use a "modified" SMS method to get MMS.

Duno if this is even close to correct but it would explain it i think.

Hm. That could be possible. But the only way i could think of that would be that when the Msg is sent, or im trying to connect to data via #777, it recognizes the ESN number when sent to a tower, recognizes my phone as a "smartphone/PDAphone" and will not let it connect.

I see what you are saying.

Like I said, I'm switching to a new plan soon, and hopefully scoring a TP.
