how to turn off screen without stopping music play

When i press the power button to put the phone in stand by mode while listening to music, the music stops.

I had this problem before. but i forgot what did to resolve this issue.

i did a hard reset yesterday so the problem is back again.

Please help.

if you are in windows media player hit whatever button is set to toggle screen in options. for me I set it to the middle of the dpad.... screen off, but power is one so it keeps playing

This can also be considered a work around to the phone alarm bug as long as you disable the option that automatically turns the phone off.

I have this option enabled.

It does not turn off automatically when the music player is on.

that is reason i am using power button to turn the screen off.

The power button will turn of the power to the device..... if you are in windows media player and listening to music... go to options and select the button you want to TOGGLE the screen, then press it.... the music will play the screen will turn off. Just like I said 2 posts up... I do it all the time.

or you could just use the "device lock" function.

i use coreplayer. it allows me to turn the screen off and it still plays.

windows media allows it too. I listen to podcasts like that all the time. he just has to try it.
