I use the one that came with the Mogul. It works fine. I think it should be a little thin. If it is too thick when you touch the screen it won't work which happened on my 6700. The ones I bought for my 6700 are thicker (sorry I am at work and I can't recall the name of the brand) and sometimes I had to pull it off of the screen in order for my stylus to work not so with the one that came with my mogul. |

Currently I am just using the one that comes with my Mogul...

It looks like the martin-fields screen protector for the Touch comes with a protector for the camera.
http://www.martinfields.com/US/dis_p...od_type=screen Is anybody using this or doing anything else to protect the camera lens? |

Took my Mogul apart!
I had a large sheet of invisibleshield left over from my laptop, so I figured I'd apply it to my Mogul. I have a sheet on my 6700 and I love it. The only thing I don't like about it on the 6700 is that it doesn't cover the entire screen. There are very thin sections at the top and bottom of the screen that tend to collect lint and dust. So, for my Mogul, I wanted to cover the entire screen. I took my whole Mogul apart last night and applied the invisibleshield to the whole screen, top to bottom. Then I put it all back together and it looks sharp. Invisibleshield is a great product too.
I wish there was a tutorial for taking the Mogul apart. I couldn't find one so I used the tutorial for the 6700. The Mogul is built similarly to the 6700 so I figured it out for the most part. I'm happy with the results. |
I am using the antiglear from boxwave and love it. It is a perfect size and easy to install. In fact I did the first time without a single bubble at all.
It is also nice not to have everything reflect off the screen. |
I think I'm really leaning towards the anti-glare because that's one thing that does affect me sometimes living down here in Florida if I go outside. Is this boxwave anti-glare the best one for that?

screen protector
I used to have a ipaq 4155 and i had some fellowes protectors left over. I cut it to size but the screen looked ugly with it on ..... so i went to a local fabric store and I bought CRYSTAL Clear vinyl (4 guage ). Then I wiped the dust of the vinyl with lens cleaner and put it on . I put 1 drop of lens cleaner on the Mogul screen to help it adhere and push out any airbubbles. It is the best protector Ive ever seen or used. It cost 1.25 for a square yrd of the stuff...enough to make 40-50 protectors. ps.s its a shame that companies charge 15-30 dollars to sell you a couple protectors that costs probably less then a penny to produce. SO you buy these phones for $ 100-300 and a screen protector can cost up to 10% of the purchase price ...what a jip. biggest scam going IMHO.

I just installed the BoxWave anti-glare. Installtion was not as easy as I hoped. The protector kept sliding ever so slightly under the bezel and it was a pain to try and pull it up and recenter it (even with tape, the adhesive on the BoxWave is pretty strong).
It certainly has a different feel that I'm not used to yet (having used the clear type protectors in the past such as G2 and NuShield). I'm still not decided on it yet, the colors are slightly washed out, but the anti-glare properties certainly work! Before http://upload2.postimage.org/69810/before.jpg You can see the camera focused on the reflection. After http://upload2.postimage.org/69817/after.jpg Screen with the anti-glare protector installed. |
Have an InvisibleShield on the way
|
Believe it or not, I'm using a Hori screen protector from my Nintendo DS. Yeah, I had to trim it a little (use the one that came with the device as a guide and cut it a bit bigger), but it's absolutely clear and cost me only like $7 at my local game store.
|
I just bought the 8125/8525 front shield protector from bestskinsever, which is only $4.49 + $2.00 USPS shipping. Much more reasonable priced than the other options mentioned in this thread. From all the indications I've seen, BSE is the same material as Invisibleshield. While you don't get the lifetime warranty, it is half priced. I have used BSE before with my Motorola Q and Apple Ipod 5g.

I think I may need the anti glare, I use it in my car a hell of a lot.
But I use orb to watch movies and other media and i don't want to degrade the quality too much. Kinda stuck on this. |

i'm just using the oem one.

I received the NuShield screen protectors today. I was very disappointed in trying it install it. Either the top or the bottom is too long and won't slide into the screen to fit snuggly. The sides fit ok. I gave up trying to make it fit, took it off and put the included protector back on. Anyone using the NuShield? If so, did you have trouble installing it?
|
the protector that comes with the Mogul is crap. I didn't even know it came with one till I read this thread. I used the G3 in the past and it was quality.
I'll just keep going naked. The screen looks best like that. |

I have EXIM sreen protector. Good quality!
You can find it on eBay. |
If anybody has a spare OEM screen protector, I'll buy it for a couple of bucks.
I didn't do a very good job of putting mine on. Let me know. Thanks. |
I just ordered one from seidio, along with my case. Hope I like it.
|
i had the invisableshield one, and it was awesome to install... the liquid based install was sweet cause it was simple to maneuver being all lubed up... but as everyone says it takes a day or two to "clear up"... mine didnt it was PRETTY clear but not what i would have liked... and its texture for the stylus was TERRIBLE, felt super soft and made dragging across the screen really annoying, especially in the up direction... I used it for about 1.5 weeks and just took it off and threw it away...

Seido Accessories
Im Using the Seido one. Just picked one up with the Rubberized Case that lets you slide out even without having to open the case and the belt clip. All made by Seido. Great Stuff from what i can tell so far.

I ordered the NuShield one, and it's nice, no adhesive, seems to work well.
|
crap, im assuming the ones you buy from best buy are guaranteed to have bubbles huh?
put the OEM one on today..not too impressed someone fill me in on the quality of the best buy stuff :drunken: |
dude i suck ass at installing screen protectors...
I got the nushield one and its AWESOME except i got moisture under it and i got it all finger printy and shit... so annoying... |
lol i guess ill get the NuShield one too, i messed up on the OEM one pretty bad
|
yea the nushield one is the best screen protector iv ever had...
iv tried 5 diff ones so far (on diff phones) |
I bought a Hori screen protector for the PSP on sale. Cut it up to size. It looks and feels like the original screen, no bubbles or anything. The only downside is that it likes my oily fingers like an original screen would.
|
I use this one and love it, lifetime warranty, easy installation, very easy to avoid bubbles, if you have to get the device replaced by Sprint just tear it off put it in an envelope and send it to them and they will send you a free replacement.
I put my nokia N800 thru a lot and not a single scratch on it. They are simply the best in terms of protection. |
Jazz screen protectors from japan pre cut for the 6700. glue free bubble free all the goods.. got 3 for like $7

I've been using the NuShields and I absolutely hate it. I had such high expectations for them, but after destroying the first one from taking it in and out to clean an fix, I had to throw it away. I've installed a second one and even used their wet cleaning cloth, but regardless I still have a giant nasty looking "oil" spot all over my screen. Yes I put it in the right way, it's in the correct direction, and I also paid extra for their cleaner.
Unless someone who uses this too can tell me how in the world the "oil" can be removed, I think I'm going to take them up on their 100% satisfaction guarantee offer. The "oil" is not any sort of moisture that I may have gotten in there, nor is it finger print/grease. |
For those with ShieldZones, do they use the same kind of adhesive for the screen shield? I have a few of the shields for other devices and I know the adhesive is extremely strong. I'm almost positive it would damage the screen if I ever remove it assuming it's using the same adhesive.
|
Im having the same issue as you... no matter what way it is... BUT the first one i installed didnt have any (it had a TEENY WEENY BIT)... so i dunno, i think it is moisture from the screen cleaner...
I like the first one i had installed i thought it was sweet, but i was being anal and took it off cause of a mild imperfection, and now am stuck with the oil issue as well... honestly think its trapped moisture, a very small amount... Quote:

I can try again, but like I mentioned, I don't think it is. I basically cleaned using their cleaner (which is ridiculously expensive btw for a piece of wet paper) on both my screen and the shield. Then I used a dry microcloth to dry it and a can of compressed air to further air dry it as well as get dust off. When you first put it on, it doesn't happen, but after using it (especially for any sort of drawing program), it gets ridiculous. Combined that with sun/light glare, the oil is just about all I can see on 100% screen brightness.
Bump to the Shieldzone question of mine above! |
