Yahoo POP working for you? Works for me...

Can you POP your Yahoo mail from pocket outlook (without paying the fee for Yahoo mail premium)?
I can, but I cannot get it working on a friends Mogul.
Only thing I can think of is that I installed the original (old version) of Yahoo!GO but them uninstalled it because it puts an icon on the bottom of the screen where the old toolbar used to be on the 6700.
However, after running the old version of Yahoo!GO and setting up the account I think it may have flagged my account so that I had the ability to POP my yahoo email.
I dunno if that is just a coincidence or it may be a trick/tip to enable Yahoo POP email access through Pocket Outlook.

Ciege...

It should work just fine, but only for incoming email. In order to send email via Yahoo Mail you need to pay for the premium service.

Are you sure you didn't pay for Yahoo Plus? It doesn't work if you never paid for the premium services unless your email address is @sbcglobal.net or something other ISP that is using yahoo as a provider.

Absolutely positive I have never paid for that service.
With Yahoo!Go it is touted as giving you that ability for free. That is why I think because I installed Yahoo!Go, activated it then uninstalled it my account was still enabled to POP through my phone.

Yes, I remember someone talking of a work-around for this.

set it up as an imap account using these settings.

imap.next.mail.yahoo.com
smtp.next.mail.yahoo.com

You might have to use Sprint's smtp server instead.

You don't need a paid account to use this and there is notelling how long they will leave this running. These setting will not work for your email client on your computer.

worked for me too.. no problems.. thank you SO MUCH.. I got tired of waiting on yahoo!go 2.0.. I see a coming soon for the mogul, so I guess that's progress right?

But this will DEFINITELY do until they get full access for the 2.0 client for the mogul.. I was reading an article on this, and it says for imap of yahoo server, only poll the server every hour..

with the 2.0 client it's real time. so I'll do that when it's available.
