new to the xv6800 scene

just wanted to say hi, ive been lurking on these forums for about a month, finally bought a 6800 to replace my not so customization friendly lg voyager. so here is my first question, i bought this phone off ebay, got it activated yesterday and asked the verizon tech if my insurance transfered to this device, and she said yeah. sooo does that mean i can drop this thing in the water today and get a replacement? doesnt make sense reading through the aserion terms....anybody done this before?

from what i understand the insurance covers any phone thats on the account. As long as you signed up for insurance when you started the contract, any phone you swap out should still be covered as long as it's the active phone.

its already consuming my life, i get into modding something for said reason, next thing i know im changing it and remodding it daily just to see what it can do, then the wife says why do you need all this garbage on your device? CAUSE I CAN! ima start rom'in up this 6800 when i get off work, stupid question but do you still have to call verizon to get a new A key after upgrading the radio to GPS? any easy quick rom suggestions? ive been digging for days trying to find the one i like, seems like im just gonna have to try em all out and decide....search search and search some more i know lol

Re: new to the xv6800 scene

No need to call for an A-KEY. And DO NOT USE THE OFFICAL WM6.1 ROM FOR VERIZON. You will have to revert the PRI to get GPS. Read all the guides you can so you don't brick.
