I would love to have my LED stop blinking, but making the cab work on my phone is frustrating!!! :(

Is it showing up in your notification queue on the new install?

I too am having trouble when I miss a call. The green LED flashes to let me know I missed the call, and then when I dismiss the notification of the missed call, the green LED continues to flash to show I have signal. The only way to stop it is to go into File Explorer and run the program again.

BTW, I copied all the files into the Windows/Startup folder and LEDKiller will not turn on until I Sleep cycle the device. I hit the power button to turn it off and then back on, and then LEDKiller goes into effect.

okie, this is what i did:

I reinstalled LED Killer back to my phone, found the notification queue. To ensure it will not blink on me again like my last few tries, i called myself, dismissed the miss call; put my phone to sleep with Slide2Unock, wake up the phone.....everything seems to be fine.

So I turned the phone completely off, and turned it back on, it started to blink .....check the notification queue, it's not there, so I went to LED Killer folder, clicked on "MortScript" file, and then "Install" (for some reasons I had to click on "MortScript" first before I run"Install" file).

After clicking "Install" from LED Kill folder, it worked again and the notification queue is there. To make sure it's really working, I repeated what I did earlier (calling myself and such), and then turn off the phone. And repeated few more times.

So now, my LED is not blinking (now that I said that, it'll probably blink on me again :| )

ok..i jinxed my luck....

LED went back flashing....i noticed that every time after i installed a new software then soft reset, LED will come bk blinking.....so now i have to click the "install" from LED Killer folder each time when it's flashing to make it work again ....

If I run \program files\led killer\treoled.exe it does NOT work, If I run LedOff itself, it does.

I'm starting to wonder if this has to do with the new ROM by any chance?

stroths 07-19-2007 04:52 PM

Its possible that the new ROM might have something to do with it. Treoled.exe was designed for the WM Treos and just happened to work with the 6800. Its possible something in the new ROM has changed that the Treoled.exe can't take advantage of. I am on the original ROM still and haven't had any issues.

I don't understand why the ledoff would work while the treoled.exe would not as its called in the ledoff script. Basically, the ledoff script checks for notifications and runs treoled.exe if none are present. Very strange indeed.

Why does the green light start blinking again after running a program like google maps or making a phone call? If I put it into sleep mode and turn it back on, the light stops. I have followed all the steps in the install. I think that it has something to do with wakeup that triggers the LED killer program to activate.

Anyways, is there a way to stop the blinking after a phone call or program execution, or do I just have to sleep it and turn it back on?

UPDATE:

I got bored, and did another hard reset. First thing I installed was LED Killer. Rebooted, and it still won't start up automatically. Once the phone "sleeps" and I wake it up, it blinks once, and then disables; as far as getting it to work ON boot however, it's a 100% no go.

At this point, I'd have to guess it's something to do with the new ROM (of course if others are having problems with the old ROM, then who knows).

Thanks for the update on that. It sounds more and more like something in the new ROM. Cody ran it on his without any issues as did I and my wife, but we are all on the old ROM.

Version 3 Released - Completely did away with the notification queue as it appeared to be at the root of most of the problems. The new version stays resident in memory, but has a very small footprint. See the first post for the download link. Uninstall any old versions before installing this version.
