Re: Message from Sprint about Pic Mail for mogul
I had never heard anything like this from sprint before. Previousley, the official sprint answer regarding MMS is that it wasn't available for windows mobile devices.

Because its all about corporations having a pissing contest over money and we as the consumer are the one being pissed on.

Re: Message from Sprint about Pic Mail for mogul
True enough. Last year when Sprint decided to block the hack it was due supposedly to an implied suit from either Arcsoft (maker of mms program hacked to work for Sprint) or Verizon (Carrier of devices with said program). Sprint blocked the access of all WM devices to their server so that only "dumbphones" could use it and pissed a lot of folks off. At the time I predicted that someone here would come up with a solution and was right on when SomeGuyMMS rolled out sMMS. Sprint reacted to the deluge of calls and complaints and stated that they and Microsoft were working on a solution. Several months later they released the Diamond with their WinPM crap, written by Verisign not Microsoft. At this point no2chem extracted the Diamond cab and posted it, only to be served a DCMA for posting an app that was going to be released to all, for FREE. Those that were able to get it while it was out reported it as slow and Moguls had an especially hard time with it running in to out of memory issues. About 2 weeks later Sprint released version 2 on their site, apparently to Vogue users (I got a txt). The Verisign app is terrible but functional, and I'm sure that the release for the Mogul is redesigned to accomidate the smaller RAM of the Mogul as the ported Diamond app ran into memory issues when run on the Mogul. To the best of my knowledge this is the third release of the app so far by Sprint/Verisign.

I received the same message and it does not work as well. Not sure what this is all about but my Touch was able to send and receive pics straight out of the box. Maybe they're realizing that they are so far behind on notification that this is their way of trying to maintain the few of us they have.LMAO |
