Re: WIFI problem?

Hopefully something is just misconfigured on your wifi router. Maybe you're enforcing MAC address filtering or don't have wireless B or G enabled, or maybe you don't have an SSID or using some hidden mode?

Anyway, you'll definitely be able to rule that out at school. :)

The reason why I asked if you were sure you were using the unlocker is because on the official site, the two links are right next to each other. Were you running it from the device itself, not from a memory card?

I guess I'm stumped. Although, I do remember that it didn't reboot, as the instructions said, when I used it. I also had to do the part in step 7 where it says to go back to step 1 and try again. :)

Well I've looked thru the router settings several times and I know its set to be about as open as possible (spare the WPA-PSK2 security) so none of those things should be an issue, but I might as well look again.

Yeah, I dunno, I figure if I decide that I really REALLY want to try to update the radio/rom I'll go back thru and try it all again, but as of now, I'm satisfied with the way I have it now, which is in FULL WORKING CONDITION hahaha

Try disabling the security settings on the router first, then try connecting the mogul.

Yeah, I tried it on WPA-PSK, that was one of my first thoughts, but still no luck. I don't feel like it is wireless security, but the signal itself, because I can't even get the phone to see the wireless. I think I'm going to sit on it till tonight/tomorrow when I get back to school where there's 1000 different connections to try :)

Why are you worried about warranty? You bought it off of Ebay who will warranty it from there? I vote it might have been broken before you bought it.

look i know im not the most seasoned guy here, but what the heck r you guys telling him to do.. he downloaded the stock rom from HTC, he does need to unlock anything, plus he didnt know how to do it anyways, so why suggest it.. and now its screwed..

here my question though to the OP, what are you using as your access point?? if your merely flicking on wifi on your phone, and searching for network with your comp...that wont work.. as standard your phone is meant to RECIEVE a wifi signal, not send out..

you need wmwifirouter(strongly recommend) or pdanet or whatever its called... these turn your phone into an Ad-Hoc acces point... now your laptop will then find your phones signal..

as for your security setting.. i use wmwifirouter and its set to open, and its WEP encrypt protected so noone else can use it..

i use this all day everyday without fail or question...

wmwifirouter gives you 21 days for free to try it out..30 bucks one time after...i promise you its the best 30 youll ever spend...afterall, youll never pay comcast, cell carrier, etc a dime for internet access again on your comp...

He might not have a data plan. If he does, it might not be unlimited. I spent the weekend using wifi with my deactivated mogul as I test cooked roms.

I think he already has a wifirouter and is trying to establish a connection to it from his phone.
