hmm...if a hard reset didn't work for you, then most likely there is somethin' else that's at fault.

i'd try to get a replacement.

I'm working on that now, i finally got someone to say they were going to order me a replacement and then they hung up, of course not finishing the replacement order >.<

b/c i've realized that if u are ever doing anything remotely important, use a landline.

my sprint phone at my house isn't as reliable as it once used to be. according to the coverage tool on teh website, there is a tower being built by my house which will make my signal amazing. so here's hopin' that happens.

Well the treo says "signal faded" if it dropped, but i've got full bars, and it said "call ended" =/

Have you actually looked through all the settings? Have you installed any apps at all?

It just does not seem consistent to a malfunction, seems more like a setting to snap back to the Today screen every time you wake up the device.

I did a hard reset and the first thing i was shut it off, turn it on and it did the same thing. No apps, didn't set up exchange, no contacts, nothing. bone dry stock. =/

my unit does not kick me back to the today screen. I have spb mobile shell set to show the now screen on wake up, so say i'm writing an email, after i hit the power button the screen goes dark and when I hit the power button again, I'm presented with the Now screen. I hit close and I'm back at the email message I was typing. I'm not kicked into today screen. Not sure what's going on with your unit.

Mine is doing the same thing, it must be a setting in there somewhere.

Patience people, just go to your memory settings, show active applications, then select the one you want, then activate it.

It should be where you left it.

This does not sound like a hardware problem to me.

Does this happen after a hard reset without you making any changes to the device? I know you said no programs were installed, but also no e-mail set up, no control panels touched, nothing? That's the true way to test it. Hard reset, allow extrom to install, then open an app and give a quick press of the power button to suspend--then again to resume.

If it still does it in that scenario then perhaps people are getting units with slightly different software or something. I highly doubt it, but I can't think of anything hardware-related that would cause this problem.
