Gps

Hello guys! Ive got a problem with my GPS. It keeps resetting in the GPS setting. When I go to GPS harware, and the put it on a port, I say ok but it resets to none when I leave the screen. Can anyone help me out?

3.56.651.0 thats the radio im using. My GPS has been working but the other day it wasnt locking in soo I started looking around to see what the problem was and thats what I found.

What you have listed is the ROM version, to see the Radio START>SETTINGS>SYSTEM>DEVICE INFORMATION

the latest radio is 3.42.5

have you added/removed/done anything from/to the phone between the time the GPS was working and when it stopped?

have you checked the basic settings such as com port and that the location is turned on and not just for 911?

3.42.02...thats the version im on. Ive added apps here and there but I couldnt tell you what.

well I just tryed google maps and now its working...I dont know what I did, maybe the soft reset?

it is a good idea to do a soft reset at least once per day

You shouldn't need to change the hardware settings unless you are using an external GPS receiver. But by all accounts it appears the hardware settings are hard coded into GPS enabled ROMs, so you can't change them if you wanted. See this thread for more info:

FYI, sometimes the GPS will just stop working, especially if your device runs low on memory. As you discovered, a soft reset will fix the issue.
