where can i obtain a copy of the SMS proggy?

Pibe38 06-19-2007 04:58 PM

Please read this announcement regarding that:

http://www.ppcgeeks.com/requests-for...ion-t2297.html

We cannot distribute it here due to Palm asking us not work on it or distribute it.

However, if you go to the 700w/wx forum at TreoCentral.com, you will find a sticky with instructions on how to get it.

I hope this will work, however - It's a shame that a Threaded SMS app wasn't an improvement that was made to the Mogul.

Agreed..... they should have included one.... but I am soooooo hoping the Palm SMS app will work. I use it all day long. Like ALL DAY LONG..... I don't wanna go back to the stock poop.... :?
But I ordered a 6800 anyway! haha

It does indeed work without any errors now.

Don't follow Treo instructions to install the app and do not do the copying of files mentioned in the text file.

If you look closely at the text file, the copying of files is only for older AKU's (I believe that's the right term).

Just install the PalmSMS CAB file and reset the device when it ask you too...let it boot back up and enjoy the treaded SMS. :)

I have tested with multiple messages outgoing and incoming and it's worked perfect for me so far.

Also, text size seems to be the same in either landscape or portrait so that bug I read about doesn't seem to exist on the 6800.

Excellent news!

Now if only UPS would hurry up and get here. Stupid "Next Day Air Saver." Can't Sprint use regular Overnight?

Man, I sure wish I had read this ... I followed the instructions from treocentral and copied the 13 files into the windows directory and promptly got the "cprog is not a valid pocket pc program" and my phone radio was not working and could not access evdo. Hopefully a hardreset will cure my woes.

Works perfectly on my HTC P4000 / Harold / Titan. I swear these names for the same damn phone are annoying, lol :D

I can confirm it works great on my mogul :)

Just install the cab and soft reset, do NOT do the file copy thing...

It's only been on a day or two, but I've read reports that the app tends to resend messages after a few days. I haven't noticed.. yet..

I have both the palm threaded messaging app and the 6700 MMS app installed on my 6800. I haven't received/sent any picture mail yet, but it seems like they will both want to controll MMS. Which should i use to send and which should handle the receiving?
