Ah Crap...So my phone went for a dive on the beach..

So...just got back from vacation, and forgot my cell phone was in my right pocket. only had it because went to check out, then went the beach on the whim..waves came in higher than the previous ankle waves were... and so now I have a phone that basically boots up but the screens out of wack (keeps scrolling whaever image is on).

so now I am hoping the many wise (and nice

) people on here can give me some advice as to what my options are.. my guess is:

I am on Sprint SERO plan so basically upgrades are a no go with the Everything Plus stuff going on now..and i do not have insurance.

1. SOL and cough up retail price for phone.
2. open up a new line maybe and use new phone for current line and then cancel new line later?
3. buy crappy phone for the meanwhile

Since you can't get a replacement from Sprint, I would go ahead and buy the HTC Touch Pro if you do decide to buy a new phone..

You could do option 2, but I am not sure how long you need to have a line open before you can close it, or if you have to pay any fee's.

thanks Big. yeahs this is the only draw back of not having sim cards. much easier with those things.. im curious to see if there are other cheaper ways. for the meanwhile its just like days without cell phones if anyone can remember those days hah.

Get a replacment and don't send yours back. They won't bill you... I was kinda affraid of that but me and my buddy did it several times and didn't get billed...

I don't think you can do that if you don't have insurance...

and what sucks is that insurance cant be added after 30 days of having the phone. didnt read the fine print for that as i figured i wouldnt run into anything since im usually pretty cautious with my electronic goodies... itll be just one year 12/31 with sero though ive previously been with sprint.

Yeah... For the extra $30.00, you can get the Touch Pro instead of the Mogul... But of course that's if you can't do anything else... You could always look on eBay for a used Mogul, but you never know the quality of such phones..

Buy a crappy flip phone on Craigslist. When you activate it, ask to add Total Equipment Protection (be very specific, if you just say "insurance" you will probably end up with ERP). Use the flip phone for a few days, then swap back to your Mogul. Once TEP is on your account, it will automatically cover the phone currently active on your plan (i.e. your Mogul after you switch back).
