screen turn on when slid open

Now that the Touch Pro is out would there be any way to adapt the part of the SW that makes the screen turn on when the phone is slid open. I know it could not be done before but they did not have a phone that did it then either. I would think it would be the same princible. It would be cool if it could be done.

I think it was said once it was more of a mechanical issue that software related but I might be off on that one.

Yeah actually I looked at the pro after i posted this and realized there are contacts built into the slide the when they break the screen come on. Oh well. I do like that feature but cost to much.
