caller id problem

hi all ive been having a problem with my caller id i tried calling up sprint just got hung up on by tech support... this might sound stupid lol but when i get a call the number shows up like ex.8(605)55-5555 when it should look like(860)555-5555 any ideas? btw it only shows up like this when the phone is ringing.it displays normally everywhere else. Thanks in advance
