That is a good sign.....now if we could just confirm with Sprint!

No MMS with Telus... that may be different with Sprint or Verizon though.

And that is why I am all over this when my time comes.

so true. something as small as keyboard lights could make me not get it. on the 6700 they screwed up the lights and in the dark I could never read the alt keys like numbers I hated it.

Does the device use the same USB form factor to sync/charge as the 6700, or is it different?

For all intents and purposes, it is the same. All existing miniusb cables will work with it. But it has a slightly modified connector (called ExtUSB) that adds pins for a headset. So basically they combined the miniusb port with the headset port and made it one single connector. They will provide a headset that has an ExtUSB plug, as well as an adapter that lets you use regular headsets with a 2.5" plug.

The thing I'd like confirmation on is if you can sync/charge with a normal USB cable without having the ExtUSB cable in between the phone and the PC's USB cord?

I'd hate to have to carry around a stupid adapter cable.....

luv2chill 04-24-2007 03:16 PM

Well I guess I can't exactly confirm it since I don't have a 6800 yet, but I can give you my 99.9% positive hunch that it will sync and charge just fine without any adapter in between. That is how other extUSB HTC devices work, so no reason to think the 6800 would be any different. I know the ExtUSB shape looks funky but it is designed to accept miniUSB stuff just fine.

The adapters are only needed if you want to hook up both a headset and a power/sync cable or if you need to hook up a headset with a 2.5" plug.

you need the adapter to be able to use a normal USB cable to charge.
