Seidio Extended Battery - Phone randomly shuts off

My phone is a year old and the battery stopped holding a charge. The battery was never great to begin with, and now even very casual use will kill it in half a day. So I decided to order the Seidio extended battery, it arrived last night and I charged it over night. Now my phone keeps randomly shutting off. Usually when I flip open the keyboard. The battery appears to be seated well. Does anyone have a clue what may be causing this? Faulty battery? Thanks!

Oh and to add to this, when it does turn off it won't turn back on until I take the battery out and put it back in.

Well I was due for a hard reset to install the latest ROM, so I did that and it seems to have resolved the issue.

Ive had the same exact issue with the Seidio Extended battery, did updating to the latest rom really fix this issue for you?

That's strange... I'm using the Seidio extended life battery right now, and it has never shut off on me. I'm using Alltel's HTC Vogue by the way.

I'm also using the Seidio extended battery, and it has never behaved like that on my xv-6800 -- stock or NueROM.

Yes it really fixed it. It was shutting off very often before, like probably every 3rd time I flipped open the keyboard. I installed the latest Sprint ROM around 9am this morning. I've been playing with it all day and have had zero issues. Also to the battery's testament, it's still at 80% after 10 hours of moderate use. It's a little more cumbersome now, especially one handed, but I'm really looking forward to using my phone all day and not worrying about a dead battery!

The only negative aspect now is the cover does not fit as snug as I would like. It sticks up about a fingernail width along the sides, but it appears secure.

My 3500 and cover is working great never did have those issues.

Well unfortunately I flipped open my phone to text someone this morning and it just turned itself off again. Perhaps it is a defective battery, I guess I'll begin the RMA process with Seidio.

Have you turned off all the auto-off and auto screen off settings under "power" in settings to see what happens for a day or two?

I don't doubt that it also may be a bad battery, BTW.
