Recovering Contacts

Does anyone have a solution to recover contacts from the Mogul? I recently replaced the user's ppc and apparently he was not syncing his contacts to Outlook. The contacts in his Outlook were old and out dated. The replaced unit some how lost all his contacts when I went to try to sync it to replace the old contact list. Now the old and new units have his old contact list.
