orange light on top left won't turn off

so, this weekend my battery died completely. when i went to plug the phone in, both lights near the top buttons (the mail and internet buttons) turned on orange. the one on the right turned green once it finished charging, but the light opposite it hasn't turned off since. when i put the phone in standby, after a few minutes the light will turn off, but as soon as the phone comes out of standby mode the orange light comes right back on solid. it's strange, anyone else experience anything like this?

edit: sorry, i'm using WM6, stock 3.35 ROM, and i've never had this issue until the battery completely discharged over the weekend.
