Exchange Server compatible with WM6.1?

Greetings all,

I have searched all over this site and have not found an answer to my problem. There is a discussion about this on another forum but I wanted to post on the Titan forum as well.

The issue that I am having is that I just finished upgrading to the new ROM. Now I cannot re-establish a connection to my work exchange server. I am wondering if the ROM is at fault, or if I am just an idiot. Here is what I have done:

1. Using the HTC Mogul directions, I have gone into Setup E-mail

2. I entered my e-mail address and password

3. I cleared the "try to get e-mail settings..." option and clicked "next"

Here is my problem...when I go to select "exchange server" from the e-mail provider drop down box, that selection is NOT there. The only two selections available are "Internet e-mail", and "Custom domain." So far, attempting to use either of these two selections results in frustration.

Prior to upgrading my Mogul I was able to connect to the exchange server at work and had no problems. I even remember that there was an "exchange server" selection in the previous ROM.

Any help from you all would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Do you have an "Outlook E-mail" tab just above your "Setup E-mail" tab? If so tap it and you should get prompts to set up your exchange server IP etc.

Re: Exchange Server compatible with WM6.1?

Yes, you have to use ActiveSync to set up an Exchange connection. The only time that would be different is if you are using an IMAP account with your company's Exchange server (as is the case at my company), in which case you set it up as a normal email account. Were you able to get your contacts and calendar sync'd before you updated to the new ROM?

Re: Exchange Server compatible with WM6.1?

I have not had a problem setting up my mogul with an exchange 2003 server on the phone itself. I selected use internet email in the option box you mentioned and it went through fine.

All I needed to do was fill in mail server address, log in, password and domain.
