Did you change the MIP to SImple Ip and set the SID/NID to 4815/65535 ? I am assuming you got some of that set since your internet works.. :) -CC P.S. for users interested there are alot of threads posted on the metropcs forum on howardforums. |
Helpful info if you're programming your MetroPCS phone
This link is an ongoing thread on getting MMS to work.
http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=1322461 This link leads to the now sticky thread on tethering a MetroPCS phone. Use this information to get your Internet working. http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=1136583 Settings of importance; Proxy server address: wap.metropcs.net HTTP port: 3128 HTTPS or secure HTTP port: 443 WAP port: 3128 Socks port: 3128 Username: 10digitphonenumber@mymetropcs.com Password: leave blank To answer a previous concern, yes you can access secure websites using metropcs. You can pay your bills using it. As far as MMS, if you read thru the linked thread, you'll notice we've been working on it and only have had partial success.. Personally, I gave up trying and went Sprint SERO and no longer have MetroPCS. Life became much easier.. Until they cut MMS off lol.. haha point at me.. ](*,) With Houdini and MetroPCS opening up their network to other carrier's phones, it has become much easier, but they still won't leak a hint about MMS server settings. Even if you go with Houdini / MetroFLASH your phone to their system. It only gives you Talk and Text. If you can find out how to edit your web sessions and/or internet settings, using what I posted above you should be able to access the internet, provided you have that service enabled on your Metro account. Also a recent personal observation, is that @metroWEB is much faster than before even though it's still only 1X in my service area. The signal quality has also improved. Where I used to be able to make fun showing off my Sprint signal bars where MetroPCS had 1 or none.. Now I am put to shame at times.. :disgust: Enjoy, -CC P.S. The default MetroPCS homepage might not be available for your non-MetroPCS phone, so when you first connect you may get an error. Don't worry, just enter the URL you wish to load and have fun! |

I loaded the latest MetroPCS PRL file, but when I call I get "Welcome to American Roaming Network". Edit: Actually when I dialed *228 it was on the MetroPCS network... still playing around though with some other... "stuff" |

Check the M.IP Tab, Under Mobile IP Behavior When in QPST, make sure that all fields that shows a phone number, shows YOUR number. By Loading the correct PRL ( using EPST or QPST ) you load all the necessary inforamtion to get inside metro's network. Use PRL 00068 from corolada. The following 3 things are mandatory to make your handset work within metro: - HEX ESN into MetroPCS system. - Correct PRL ( 00068 ) - Check with QPST or EPST that your phone number shows correctly in all fields. |
