Lost phone calls when upgrading to new rom

My sprite backup failed - what can a girl do? Is there any way I can pull the old call log off the device? A program that will show deleted files, maybe? In my anger at the sprite backup failing after backing faithfully week after friggin week, I got mad and deleted the backup file too Dumb, I know.

I'd also like to recover some txt messages that were deleted as well.
