I walked him through fixing his problem last night.
The scrambled text in box 4 of the security settings in EPST was his problem.

Yeah, I ran into the same problem with a buddy of mines USCC Titan. The jumbled up characters were his problem too. I hope you got rid of it and the problem is fixed.

I don't know why the characters were all jumbled up in the EPST settings. I went through and deleted the jumbled characters and the data problem was fixed. Have you looked at the EPST settings yet?

ya i wrote down my hdr an auth user id and hdr an auth password ppp user id but i havent deleted those jumbles. what do i do after i delete those?

From within the security tab in EPST replace the top and 2nd box with yourtendigit@uscc.net
And the 2nd box and 4th box with: yourtendigit
So if you number was 702-865-8859 it would look like this:
1) 7028658859@uscc.net
2) 7028658859
3) 7028658859@uscc.net
4) 7028658859

PPC 6800 File System ? Flash?
 

Ok... I unlocked and tried to get a sprint ppc 6800 working on usc....

cellular / text worked great off the bat.
data - took some time used the settings found in the thread for epst /security settings.. changed them and data was working great for about 2 days... now stopped working..... *228 will not work...

1) *** Is it possible to read down the us cellular version or does someone have one that was read down to write into the phone I have re-program and it would be Re-branded if you will - menus and splash screens etc....

I played with the kitchen and cooked up some stuff, but still, it never really had all of the right settings...

2) is there a way to backup the firmware? what soft would do it or a link to the prog? and would it give us what we need for US cell?

3) could you just use qpst or something and save all file system and drop it on a sprint ppc phone????

any ideas would help... plus I would post up my findings plus the filesystems... since I have a sprint unit and a us cell unit infront of me...

There have been posts saying the Security settings should be the (MSID, ESN, or your 10 digit cell number) @uscc.net, which is the correct format? And does anyone have the other relevant settings (Mobile IP, Mobile Profile settings) for US Cellular? I have lost my data connection and want to verify the correct settings.
