Once the thing is synced up with the satellites it works just fine. It probably doesn't update quite as fast as my BT receiver does, but it's better than nothing.

hmm i have yet to wait 10 minutes i guess im too impacient, deffinetly make sure your gpsmode is set to 2 people seem to have better luck with that, i hear gpsmode 4 doesnt even work...

Okay, so with the new radio update (3.42.50), I have successfully gotten locks. It takes about 15 minutes, however, this is better than previous radios where I have been unable to get any fixes. I am using JD's Rom. Hope this helps someone.

have you primed at all? what program are you using while attempting to lock?

i have been using gps viewer to prime it... and after testing last night I have been getting some pretty good results. I prime is with gps viewer and it will see like 8 satelites and not connect so ill do a cold start followed by a warm start and then a hot start... this might just be placebo but tickering with the different starts gets me connected pretty fast... usually within 5 minutes

Using GPS Viewer I either get 2 or 3 sat., all showing up over the North icon in red. I can let it sit for hours and it won't get more than 4 or 5, with no real lock.

Now, it's flashing the random satellites all over the globe, bu still not even locking on to any...

Any tips?
Running the latest radio and 20720 ROM.

I get a lock iin less than 2 minutes normally. Most of the time around one minute. I use google somtimes and it locks in about 2 min without a prime. When I do Prime I use GAF GPS Toggle or HTC GPS Tool.

my cold locks top out around 30-60 seconds (outside) with priming. i use htc gps tool, and when i get 3-4 + red sats in it, i leave it running and switch to Google Maps, and it locks almost instantaneously.

it seems like lock times differ from device to device, which is very odd. the only thing i can think of would be location, but it is unassissted GPS, so who knows.

I find that if I use Quickgps to get the updated data, then start the holux gps viewer, wait until it sees 4 or 5, then warm start, it will lock, and I'm good to go in google maps. Total from start to working is 5 minutes. (I just tried it again, and even having to get up, get my phone, delete some sms, walk to the back door, quickgps, holux, wait til i got 6, warm started 3 or 4 times, got a lock, and opened google maps, 5 minutes.
