Re: Bell 6800 bad battery life

I have an original battery and a third party one. I charge the phone in the cradle it came with, and the charger from my Q, which uses the same pinout and voltages.

No viruses, i can hard reset, and it is still a problem, and i am running fedora 8 on my desktop pc.

Re: Bell 6800 bad battery life

Well i have tried all the GPS roms, and they do the same thing. I will try a non GPS rom soon to see if it is the same.

I am wondering if my phone is constantly checking with my provider to try and update the phone, and that's why the battery is draining quickly. My phone works with my provider, but is not sold or supported by them.

Re: Bell 6800 bad battery life

A non gps rom made no difference. I will take my phone to my provider to check all the programming. I have a feeling something is constantly trying to update, and that may be a problem...

Re: Bell 6800 bad battery life

Just another update:

I turned on flight mode, and the phone battery was fine, so something is trying to update with my provider, and that is killing the battery. It is draining so fast, the charger can only keep the phone at the current level, it is unable to charge it while it is plugged in. Luckily i have the cradle, and 2 batteries...

Re: Bell 6800 bad battery life

One last update.

I am sure some IT guy logged into their backend and noticed all the authentication requests from my phone and granted them. As of about 8:15 am my time, my battery life is back to normal.
