My Mogul screen is completely blank..somebody help me save my contacts!!!!

my sprint mogul just completely went blank on me (refurb from the insurance no doubt)..I dont know what to do I tried syncin it so I could get my contacts b4 I turn it into sprint (for the next refurb piece of crab) but the computer wont even recognize it anymore....BUT ...it will charge it...AND..when I turn on the phone the initial sprint loading screen shows with no prob..any suggestions will be greatly appreciated went to sprint and they were no help and I cant afford a hard reset right now...need these contacts
