i haven't experimented much with vista and my ppc so I'm not 100% on this but there might be some drivers for the 6800 somewhere in device man. that could need to be removed then reloaded... i would say reload all your usb drivers but you already said your other devices still work so that probably doesn't need to be done but its worth a shot...

I had the same problem and called Microsoft because I couldn't even delete Activesync so I could reload it. They put me through a process and I finally got it reloaded and it worked fine. However, I have since had 3 replacement phones from Sprint, the last one brand new and have the same issue again. I complained to Sprint because of this issue and the other issue of my phone freezing on calls and causing me ro reboot. I have gone through 5 Moguls now. Sprint gave me a replacement code that I could bring to a store and got a new Blackberry. So far, it works great. I have had a windows Treo, a Motorolla Q, a 6700 and the 5 6800"s. I don't think I will ever go back to a Windows mobile device again. Good luck,

i have had 4 blackberry devices and hated them all. i will never own another BB, scroll wheels and scroll balls are impossible to use in any consistent manner IMO..

HTC was no help and neither was Microsoft... Microsoft wanted $35 just to talk about it. Anyway don't know what to do... It's not showing up in Device Manager... I have tried other devices and they show up except for the 6800. Not sure what to try next or if there is anything...

Could using my old Razr charger have anything to do with this? I found my old Razr car charger the other day and it fit so I started using it... Didn't know if this would cause it. Didn't think so since the rest of the phone is fine and when I do try and Sync it still charges.

i had this happen after using ccleaner on my 64bit vista, restored the registry entries and it went back to normal.

This is a common issue with the Mogul. I haven't been able to sync for about a month, but dashwire is my life saver. I just need a way to transfer files and that'd be amazing...
