Registry Hack Question...

Simple question here. For some reason, I've always been afraid to do the registry hacks. Well... that's all changed as of recent!

My question is this... if i hard reset the phone... will everything go back to the original settings? Or once you hack them, do you manually have to go back and change things, if you indeed want to change back to the original settings?

Thanks in advance...

Also... any reg hacks you highly recommend? Highly DON'T recommend?

I have only done the battery life and speed hacks, and increasing the video camera capabilities...

Ok "Yes" if you do a hard reset it will change everything back to factory stock and you would have to do them again. As fas as edits I do here are a few I change on my phone every reset. Some I do out of habit fr4om my 6700 still.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Undock Keyboard
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Sip\Now
go to DragStyle and change (0) to (1)

A-GPS reg edit
HKLM/Software/HTC/SUPLAGPS/
GPSMode --> Change to 4 (orginal value 2)

faster web browseing..
HKLM\Comm\Tcpip\Parms and changed the TimerWheelSize to Value of 5 from 11 (Think on 6.1 this is already done stock)

InternetSharing
Go to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing]
Then Delete "Extension"="rilphone.dll" or "Extension"="isext.dll
then change "MaxCMCon.... from 1 to 0..
MaxCMCon might be 0 already if so its cool.

What does the A-GPS reg edit do? And faster web browsing... would that work on Opera Mini, or just PIE?

aGPS is Assisted Global Positiioning System. it uses cell towers the gain a less accurate fix on your position, then uses satellites to gain a very accurate fix. there is a big difference going from 2 to 4 in the reg settings, a lot quicker. as for the internet speed, ill link (here) to a thread that shows what lsme gave you, and another little trick. but it does greatly improve your speed, i believe, on any browser. works great on opera mobile for me.

Sorry... I know what aGPS is, I just wasn't sure what the reg did. I take it that it finds the satellites quicker, when changing from 2 to 4, is that correct?
