Awesome, so will they overnight you the phone? You will have to let us know when you get the phone and it actually works on the Verizon network!!

Re: Qwest And Verizon Update Via Online Chat With Qwest

Lol yeah well I just contacted my works rep to get the "work discount" added on she tells me she is confused cause I am supposed to be billed by qwest. I said no I don't bundle with them so I will be billed by verizon then she tells me Well qwest is reselling Verizon as "qwest wireless" I am like WTF! Qwest has told me the complete opisite.

So either Qwest totally F***ed their cusotmers over or my rep for my work doesn't know all about the transfer. I am hoping it's the latter. I better have a verizon box and branded phone when I get it.....

Re: Qwest And Verizon Update Via Online Chat With Qwest

I just confirmed with qwest (I had to call to update my address I just moved and remembered the addresses all have to match up when porting) Well she told me my work's representative didn't know what she was talking about lol and said that since I am NOT a bundled user I will be billed directly to verizon and as far as verizon is concerened it's as if I went to verizon directly (which you basically do when ordering online)

She told me that is it true anyone can now make the switch via online, She also told me most kiosks/qwest stores should be able to make the swtich as well (some have not been trained so YMMV) which means that you would get your phones immediatly. She informed me that it was available to non-bundled users now.

Re: Qwest And Verizon Update Via Online Chat With Qwest

Anyone else tried yet and gotten through the process. I assume it was not a fluke since Qwest's page is still allowing current customers to switch.

The thing about this, with the buyout going through you won't loose coverage. I think some of you forget that.

Re: Qwest And Verizon Update Via Online Chat With Qwest

Yeah well problem was sprints network is so overloaded at least in AZ my issue was calls would never connect always got "All circuits are busy" message

Not only that in AZ Altell aint all that great........

On another note wife just called me the phones arrived. So the overnight shipping is legit (if you order today friday you wont get it till monday more and likley tuesday so I suggest not doing it on the weekend unless you go to a kiosk,) As soon as I get home I am activating and finishing up the porting process (which should only take an hour or so once activated)

I'm over on Verizon now, and reasonably happy. I just finally bought a Samsung i760 to use, so we'll see what happens there.

Currently using an LG Voyager, because they wouldnt' let me have a 6800 but that's ok, the Samsung is prettier.

Port happened as soon as I activated Verizon's phones and so far so good.

Re: Qwest And Verizon Update Via Online Chat With Qwest

No, I bought two of them at a good deal with a rebate, but they turned out not to be what I was looking for, so we bought a Blackberry for my husband and a Samsung smartphone for me outside of Verizon and just activated them. Going to sell the Voyagers.

Re: Qwest And Verizon Update Via Online Chat With Qwest

Well this is just stupid. I went to a Qwest Kiosk the other day and they told me the same thing, that my mogul is equal to a verizon enV 2 and a blackberry. I don't think so. :angry7:

Its possible to keep my phone and switch over to verizon, right? Just switch the radio?

Sorry, I never did it before because when I looked into it, there was only like 1 rom for qwest and that was dcds... (That was a long time ago.) And then finally qwest and htc released that new rom w/ gps. ](*,)

Re: Qwest And Verizon Update Via Online Chat With Qwest

It sucks that I just found this forum and all of you have been going through this. I have been fighting this battle for a couple of months now, and finally got it resolved. I have had a PPC6700 with Qwest for the longest time (this thing has been flashed so many times, I'm suprised it still works). When the transition to Verizon was announced, I was told that it was either an LG EV2 or Blackberry Curve. Neither of these are PPC replacements!

Anyway, I had obtained a phone number with the Qwest wireless transition group back in September. They take requests from customer on the basis that a "windows mobile device is necessary" and a Blackberry or LG EN2 was not suitable. I, along with about six other people that I know, were placed on a waiting list until they could figure out how to work out the details.

Long story short, I just received a Verizon XV6800 2 days ago for free as a replacement to my PPC6700 from Qwest. They are replacing Qwest Pocket PC as a "customer care issue". And yes, the 6 other people that I know are receiving their phones this week as well.

Sorry for the teaser, but when I get back to the office in the morning, I will post that phone number to the wireless transition team. I hope they are still taking requests for all of you!

Awesome! Thanks so much!

One ? though, is it a brand new or a refurbished 6800?

Guess it wouldn't matter. And do you trade phones for it?

Re: Qwest And Verizon Update Via Online Chat With Qwest

i just found this forum. i am extremely frustrated with qwest. while i am not a "pocket" pc user, i am having some of the same issues with qwest and the migration.

they are not offering me an equivalent phone. i bought a $250 phone, paid $90 with a 2-year contract. my contract does not end until april 2010! I was expecting the phone was worth the $90 i paid as i would have it for at least a couple years. if i had known about the migration, i would have opted for the free or cheap phone. the one i have is a rugged shock-free, dust free, etc. phone that need for outdoor work i do.

they are telling me that essentially i will have to dump my phone in jan/feb when qwest cell phone no longer work, that i will have to pay for the equivalent phone, and that if i want out earlier, e.g. i will have to pay the $200 ETF. They are not honoring the 2-year commitment. Can i charge them $200? I would like a refund on my phone or at least partial refund, and waive of my ETF fee so i can move to a provider that i choose at a time that is convenient for ME. I don't want to go with Verizon.

My next step is to write to FCC and possibly the attorney general and local newspaper. I'm in Portland Oregon.

Does anyone have any new stories? e.g. Waives of ETFs? Frustrations with "equivalent" phone offers? I will refer the newspaper to this forum so they can read about the injustices and horrible customer service QWEST is providing.

Re: Qwest And Verizon Update Via Online Chat With Qwest

i will post again after i contact fcc. i too am looking toward the iphone. monthly fee is no more than i'm paying for simple talk time! it doesn't seem to matter who i talk to at customer service. they say they understand my frustration, have had other customers with similar complaints, but they offer nothing. do they not get training on customer retention? will qwest be asking for a bailout? do we really want to pay to bail them out?

Steezy 11-20-2008 08:24 PM

Re: Qwest And Verizon Update Via Online Chat With Qwest

A bailout for qwest!? lol... That's awesome your trying to contact FCC. Okay, I dont have the contract out, but I think they do not have to honor your contract if they're done renting Sprint's tower usage or whatever. (Someone correct me. Thank You!) I'm curious how you got a 2 year contract, when in 2008, they we're only giving out 1 years because they we're discontinuing with Sprint. I was only offered a 1 year in 2008... So yes, that is bogus on their part.

To tell the truth, I wish I had never got in with Qwest. Luckily my phone is able to switch any radio, but I'm not going to do that. Most likley, I'm taking the offer for the Verizon Titan. (But then Ill be getting into the Mogul's issues again.) Why can't they just give me their Raphiel? Although I'm not telling you all my problems, I'm actually thinking of dropping EVERYTHING from Qwest. So if they do need a bailout...

Re: Qwest And Verizon Update Via Online Chat With Qwest

I have 5 phones ... only 2 in contract. One of those contracts is until September of 2009. I asked the sme thing about the ETFs. They won't prorate mine, so will they pay me $200 when they stop the service next year. Of course not.
I took my 3 other lines to Sprint. I like data on my phone and it gets costly with Verizon. I also get better signal with Sprint that my friends get with Verizon. My other 2 lines I just lowered the minutes as far as I could go and will hold them until Qwest runs out ... my husband REALLY wants to keep his phone number.

I cancelled my home phone as well. All I have left with Qwest is DSL and I don't know if I have the stomach for changing my e-mail address and cable at my house is worse. So, I won't be cutting all ties with them, but my bill will be A LOT lower.:???:
