How I get my phone info

I am new at this and I want to replace my rom on my Mogul. I been told before I do anything I need the my sprint codes or whatever to put back my phone so I can get back attached to the sprint network. I tried doing the **778** but it just keeps trying to dial out . Can sombody please give the idot tutorial to get this info off my phone

I already seached through the forums and tried what they said.. but my phone still won't give the screen for that information. What am i doing wrong
