Memory on the 6800

Any more effective ideas on how to stop my mogul from eating up so much memory? Even when I have no applications open, its still eating up more than half my memory. Also I'm using bluetooth stereo headphones, anyone have any utilities on how to improve its performance?

Re: Memory on the 6800

If you look around, there are threads where people are talking about hardwiring in 128. I even read a post somewhere where its been done. the touch is 128 already. If everyone doesn't start going to the 128. I don't think it will be long until we find ourselves maxing the phones out.

Re: Memory on the 6800

This is stupid, it will never happen.

What does help is to use a custom rom. I use VetVito's stock (bare bones) 6.1 rom with no bells and whistles. Even with Mobile Shell, MS today plugin, Diary, weather, etc I boot at 23mb and never go below 20. Before i sprint rom i would drift down to around 15.

Re: Memory on the 6800

Try this:

http://www.oxios.com/memory/

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=359

I believe the 6800 caches memory also, so even if it appears low, the mogul will free some more up if needed.
