new rom (vz) problems

I installed the dcd 2.1.0 verizon rom with the v3.27.0 radio (following these instructions:
http://www.phonenews.com/how-to-add-...00-titan-2663/)
and everything went fine but now my device is freezing up and generally not acting healthy. Can anyone vouch for this set up and/or recommend the best current rom for verizon? Im not too concerned with having GPS available (but would be nice), I would really like to have a nice no junk rom above all else. Thanks for any advice.

i believe that ROM had a lot of errors with it. upgrade to sprints v3.35 radio and then go up to dcd's 3.0.4. I updated directly to this ROM from 2.1.0 and it was very simple, and now RevA and GPS work great. PM me if you need any help like step by step

yeah, thats an older radio and even older rom.
you'd be best served to go with something current.
browse the 'upgrades' forum here at ppcgeeks..

Nick, do you have a pre-made document? I'm still completely stock but I've been lurking for a while (subscribing to threads that pertain to the upgrade). I have been trying to confirm what steps to take from stock to the upgrade. There's a very good thread on how to do the upgrade if you've already flashed the stock ROM but I'm not sure if I can take those steps without doing some sort of other flash first. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: I found this from Nickels on another page. When it gets to the kitchen part, what would I do next? Install dcd's 3.0.4?

ill jjust tell you how to do it in order. i took a stock refurb, and 2 minutes after opening it, i was installing olipro's 2.40 bootloader and sprint's 3.35 radio ROM, which enables GPS and RevA speeds(woo!) (heres the instructions to do both of these http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=21167).

now for the custom ROM. i had problems with no2chem's custom rom on my xv6800, but you can update to his if you wish. otherwise, i recommend checking out DCD's 3.0.4 (here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=385336) very fast, very stable, and very responsive.

i have a few help cabs i can send your way that arent on the ROM either.

You RULE. Thank you sooooo much. I'm getting started right away. I have a trip planned out of town tomorrow and the GPS will be very handy.

well, heres the dealio.. my pdf doc is specific to the no2chem roms and the PPC kitchen.
someone DID port the DCD roms to be used in that kitchen, but DCD has his own kitchen.
either way, unless you select the MS Office components, they will not install by default.

stick with Nicks advice if you guys are already PMing.. ignore my kitchen pdf doc, unless you are going no2chem....otherwise you'll just end up even more confused....

either way, have fun !!

Awesome. Thanks. I just finished olipro's and I'm stuck in bootloader mode (man I've read that alot). Now I'm off to that thread to work it out. Fun and nerve-racking at the same time!
