Mogul youtube/myspace video codec?
 

I got a mogul the other day and want to watch some kind of tv or videos, vtap is the only program I have found so far. I use to have mobitv, but can't find it anymore.

I downloaded TCPMP and can't figure how that is suppose to help me watch youtube videos, I also installed Adobe flash still will get an error on my media player saying "Cannot perform the requested action at this time" Do I need a codec for my player or what?

Also I'm looking for a smart voice activated dialing system for my phonebook so I don't have to program them all.

Any help would be appreciated. -DDrake

You need the flash video bundle and the version of TCPMP found in the thread Full YouTube/Google Video Access-Updated 1/24/2008. Also I have found that having the flash video bundle and flash 2.1 or 7 installed causes it not to work correctly.

I've downloaded these already, I need to figure out how to make TCPMP a default player for streaming video i guess

Open TCPMP .Click on options.Nect click Settings.Click Select page.Click File associations.now check all you want TCPMP to be default for.For most streming video make sure Windows Metafiles is checked.

there is a program called youtube play that does it pretty good

I tried changing some of the settings, windows media player keeps playing it, if I get it i'll post which one

I got TCPMP to open it now I'm getting an error that says "RTSP protocol not supported

here... this works best for me.. unzip and transfer files to your device... install 838_pro_stream 1st, don't restart device click cancel, 2nd install RvBcrs and don't restart click cancel, then tcpmp. NOW soft resest... go to m.youtube.com and it should work... works perfect for me, never had an issue. everything should be installed to device, not storage card.

Im only extracting 1 file out of this zip file. What am i do n wrong. If you respond please kind with your words and dont assume that I should no what to do just because i have a smartphone ladies and gentlemen. Thanks for any reply with instrustion.......I downloaded to my device by draging and droping it to my phone via "My Computer" (ActiveSync)....Help, I want to watch some videos guys and gails. I've had this phone for one weeks and have made some minor upgrades like my today screen but thats all ive been able to do with ease. I dont no the first thing about a registry on the HTC6800. I want to get a flick scroll program for contacts,email, etc. Also, iphone interface or icube or iiiiiiisomething. I'm bot to go crazy. I thought it would be easy to transfer programs and upgrade but laaawwdd have meerccy.
Somebody please get a brotha started.

Make sure you are going to the real version of the site, not the mobile version. There should be a link at the bottom of the mobile version page to switch it to desktop version.

what's wrong with just using Vtap? It pulls in all the you tube video.

HTC Streaming Media also works for playing videos off of m.youtube.com and i think it works for the non mobile youtube website also... VTap videos are choppy and dont come in clear i wouldn't recommend it to my enemy lol ne wayz, also with PIE i go to ytpocket.com and IMHO is the best youtube site for the phone the video quality is excellent and it uses TCPMP to open but you might need to download a .flv plugin for it

you should be gettin 3 files out of the zip i attached... try using pocket rar found here http://www.bestsoftware4download.com...-ujwaliqb.html and then download the zip directly to your device and open it with pocketrar... then just follow the directions from my post.

As for your iphone contacts, try www.pocketcm.com there are finger friendly contacts, calendar and image viewer there... installation and customization instructions are there as well.

Lemme know if that works for ya.

No it doesn't, at least last time I tried it.

Vtap recompresses the video, and its quality was gawd awful compared to the original flv hosted on youtube.

I think that whoever designed the application tried to make it more friendly on slower cpu devices with limited bandwidth. There's no reason you can't play a full fledged youtube flash file on a mogul with evdo.

Installing the flash video bundle mentioned earlier here is all you need to make it work. It sits on top of internet explorer and recognizes links to videos, and asks if you want to play, save, or email the video to someone else.
Best part is, it works with all the major streaming media sites: Youtube, Veoh, Google Video, MegaVideo, tvlinks, etc...

oh, AND since it is integrated into internet explorer, it will work if someone sends you a link to a video as well! No filtering or special application needed to find and launch video.

In TCPMP under Options>File Association i have checked PLS, MPC, MKV, OGG OGM, NSV, M3U, AIF, MPEG MPG MPV, Flash Video... Check and see if thats what you have...

Also, do you have flash player 7 installed?

Hi guys,

quick question. am i suppose to be watching the streaming under TCPMP or the HTC streaming media. because it defaults to HTC Media streaming and plays but i dont see any .flv under file associations in TCPMP.

u know what, flv WAS there when i wrote that post and it said "Flash Video" but now its not.. hmm. wierd...

Streaming media does play it... im not too sure why i put tcpmp in it but its good to have anyway. plus, its the exact way i installed everything and i never had a problem.

Coreplayer mobile ($29.95) is the newer version of TCPMP (no longer open source). It has youtube search capabilities built in and works fine with the latest ROM updates posted on this site, as it is self contained and does not rely on any additional files.

Youtubeplayer as mentioned in an earlier post is a freeware app with similar functions, but my version stopped working following a ROM update. Download by clicking link below.
