Ring string not being saved in registry when changing back and forth to roaming

i am using a mogul and i have changed my ring string from "apw3r" to "apw1r" so that my ring tone will repeat within one second instead of 3 seconds...and i dont know what lame @$$ at sprint decided that there needed to be a 3 second wait between rings...then it only rings like 3 or 4 times before going to VM, whereas with a 1 second delay between rings, it rings a bunch of times and increases the chance that ill hear it...since the ring volume is so damn low on a mogul....

the problem is that when i change over to roaming, which i have to do in the office because the sprint signal is non existent inside the building, it changes the string back to apw3r. then if i change it back to apw1r it stays until chaning back to a sprint only setting.

does anyone know of some way to get this to stick for good? thanks.
