Sorry to respond so late, and it looks like your radio doesn't support BT PAN, so this issue is most likely moot, but anyways... I use Vista and what I did was go to: start|control panel|Network and Internet|Network and Sharing Center|Manage Network Connections. Then I dragged and dropped the BT Network Connection under the PAN Heading into my quicklaunch area. Now, all I have to do is prepare my ppc for connection, then click my quicklaunch icon, wherein PAN opens up, and I click connect.

I haven't noticed a big difference in speed between BT PAN and USB ICS, myself, but YMMV.

In your case perhaps but in my case they're the same. I haven't broken the 3 Mb barrier with Rev A yet.

Re: Blue Tooth PAN through ICS

OK so check this out..
This works.. but not in the way i would think..

am running 3.35 sprint radio, with No2Chem 5054 rom..

I have UNinstalled, a previous installed cab of WM6_BT_DUN from my device
I have deleted a previously placed WModem.exe program i put in my windows directory.

OK.. i do NOT have Internet Connection Sharing running.

I simply establish a BT connection with my laptop.
i then select a 'QuickConnect' option on my laptop's BT menu, for 'Dial Up Networking'.
It then opens the connection dialogue.. I input user name and PW, dial #777, and DONE.
it connects at 115.2kbps.

I can then start my laptop IE browser, and surf the web.
here is my speedtest.. not overly impressive, but so what, i'm up and connected.

How can this be ? do you have any comments ? is this normal ? (not complaining mind you)
again -- NO ICS, NO WM6_BT_DUN.... looks like a direct port right to Bluetooth !
awesome yes !

i have noticed it drops me every 10 mins or so, and i have to re-establish a connection..
would love to hear your thoughts !! does anyone else connect like this ???

Re: Blue Tooth PAN through ICS

Hmm, I can't do that. That is interesting, your BT connection kinda defaults to modem usage.

I have been using PDANet for connecting. It makes it so easy. Here is speedtest using PDANet (via USB). I haven't tried using PDANet via bluetooth, but I am going to give that a go to compare.

I know.. isn't that a little strange ? i've been racking my brain for a couple of weeks trying to tether via BT... i gave up for a few days there, but just on a whim decided to try it up again.
i frankly don't understand how i'm able to get it work like this.. i wonder if it's the BT Stack in my Laptop that is enabling this, or something on my device..(all this time i've been trying to enable PAN??) but again, i removed the BT_DUN from my device.. so who knows..

i have a live connection right now through BT tether ..
in my Device's BT settings, under COM Ports, it says 'New Outgoing Port'.... just giving me the ability to actually set up a port.. there is none by default..

but on my DUN connection properties on my laptop, it's going throught he Bluetooth Modem, on COM11..

Re: Blue Tooth PAN through ICS

no, that outgoing port IS the port being used...thats why it shows up there now. just wondered what shows up on the laptop side when you go to Start, Settings, Network Connections; is there a PAN listed there or anything related to bluetooth?

sorry, my bad.. the connection in my 'Network Connections' group, is called simply 'Bluetooth Connection'..
I have 2 areas under my 'Network Connections'.. one is 'LAN or High-Speed Internet', and the other is 'Dial-up'.. the 'Bluetooth Connection' is under the 'Dial-up' section..

did i perhaps stumble across a whole new concept of BT tethering, thereby bypassing ICS and a device BT_DUN ? I highly doubt it, but this all seems very interesting to me.
