My Mogul randomly mutes itself. Please help!

The phone will be working fine and then I go to use it and there is no sound at all. I mean nothing. I can’t hear people on the other end of a call. It won’t make a sound in any program and won’t ring. The volume is all the way up. If I restart the phone it works fine for a while and then randomly does it again. The problem is I don’t know when it has stopped making sound. This is really frustrating because I miss calls and messages. If someone knows how to fix this issue please let me know.

I recently installed the cab to make the ringtones play thru the bluetooth. uninstalled it and still having that issue. A soft reset fixes it but it continues to happen.

might be a bad connection in the headphone jack. Its thinking your trying to use the handfree.

Insert the headphones a couple of times, blow in it etc. and see if that fixes the problem.

Thats the thing. I'm not using a wired headset. My bluetooth can be off, and when i go to pick up the call via the Mogul, I cant hear the person.

yeah it doesnt mean that there isnt a piece of something in the headphone jack. Like a piece of dust of something making the connection. It would be more likely for that to happen if you never use a wired headset.
Know what I mean if you used a wired headset sometime it would clear out that crap that gets stuck in there from static electricity everytime you inserted the jack. But since you dont if just builds up. I have this problem sometime because I put steel wool in my pocket for work and if Im not carefully and put it in the wrong pocket Ill end up with little steel wool pieces in the bottom of my pocket I put my phone in. And since there is a little charge the steel wool attracts to anything metal on the phone.

I never thought of that. When I get to work in the am I will use some compressed air and clean it and see what happens.

Tried it, still has the same issue....

I've this happen a couple of times too. It must be an issue with the new ROM. Never happened before then.
