Exclamation PC Fails to recognize Mogul via USB

My Mogul does not seem to connect to my PC via the USB cable. The phone gets charged through the cable, but the PC does not seem to recognize it, and when I pull up Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1 on my Windows Vista PC, the app just shows "Not Connected". The device does not show up in My Computer either.
I've had this problem for the past week, and I've talked to tech support at both Sprint (all the way to tier 2) and HTC, and neither of them seem to be able to help me fix this issue.

This problem began after I installed ROM v.3.35.651.2. Prior to that, the device connected to my PC fine.

Here is what I have done thus far to troubleshoot:

1. Soft-reset phone
2. Reboot PC
3. Uninstall Windows Mobile Device Center, reboot, Reinstall, reboot
4. Plugging USB cable to a different USB port
5. Unchecking "Enable advanced network functionality" in USB to PC settings in the Connections tab in Settings.
6. Hard-reset phone
7. Disabling my firewall
8. Tried finding Windows Mobile Device Adapter and Driver in Network Adapters in Device Manager on PC, but it's not there.
9. I had Microsoft ISATAP adapter in Network Adapters in Device Manager showing a yellow exclamation point, so I uninstalled it, hoping it would reinstall, but it didn't.
10. Dialed ##786#, completed a full RTN (Restore to new)
11. EDIT: Ok, I just tried one more thing: reinstalling Windows Vista, and it still does not recognize the device.

None of these things have helped. I am thinking that this is a problem with a driver missing in Vista. Does anyone have any idea or solution to follow?

These are the only things I know of to check...

1. In WMDV, Mobile Device Settings, Connection Settings-all boxes are checked?

2. On Mogule, Activesync, Connections, -box checked for Synchronize all PC's using this connection- USB

3.
  • Open your Services list (Start->Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Services).
  • Make sure these two services are started and are set to Automatic start up with delay: “Windows Mobile-2003-based device connectivity.” “Windows Mobile-based device connectivity.”
4. Have you tried a different USB cable? Have you tried it with any other computers?

Hope you get it figured out..until then, have you tried to Synch via Bluetooth?

Also, have you downloaded the most current version of WMDC from Microsoft, 6.1?

On the phone... Start > Settings > Connections tab > USB ... Disable the advanced network functionality.

Also check your pins on your mogul usb port. I had a connection problem. Mogul would charge but not sync. Turned out I had one pin bent under another and it looked like I only had 4 pins. Got them lined back up with a tiny screwdriver and all was good again.
