PPCGeeks - Question about Vito FindMe!

Alright, so I was wondering whether or not it kept the GPS primed, or whether I need to keep one of the smaller apps open in the background? I asked my brother to send me a text with GPS in the body, and he said he didn't get coordinates back.

And, as well, it tries to connect to the internet when I open it. The problem: I changed my DNS address, so it asks me to login everytime (By pushing OK)... Wouldn't that render the program useless if, for instance, someone resets my phone? Since no one would have pushed OK, therefore I wouldn't be able to track my phone. ](*,)
