Indagroove, can you explain what this program does? I tried googling it, but couldn't find anything.

That's because the actual name of the app is acbToggleBT. ;)

Question: One thing I find a bit irritating with Telenav is that it doesn't have a built in option to search contacts to quickly input your destination like Live Search does. I was a bit surprised because it's something that integrated with the Sprint device. Am I overlooking this feature or am I right to say that it isn't available?

The space is not a problem, but with Tom Tom you have to have all these maps and if I'm only using it locally (Baltimore-Washington area), I dont need all those maps.

Look not only is Telenave/sprintnav a fully featured, fast dependable gps service if there ever was one it also acts as a directory service that saves you money. IMO the storage problem that other programs present and the lack of a current up to date directory service built in makes telenav the best all around choice. The money I save using telenav for my 411 services alone pays for it.

I use iGo 2006 plus. I find the interface, POI and the ability to use it out of your service area as the prime reasons for having installed nav software.
I live in Canada, and with our HUGE country and TINY population, there are large areas that are not serviced digitally. What if there is a power outage? Cell towers are affected by that.
I'm told that iGo is best for Europe, but I find that the maps for North America are extremely detailed street-wise and POI-wise.
If you are worried about space you only need to install the maps you need. All of Canada is roughly 112mb. In the US, its broken down by state which vary depending on the level of inhabited/developed area. I think New York state runs roughly 50mb.
My career revolves around geography/GIS/GPS and decision support. While the Mogul GPS is nowhere close to a Trimble per se, it is a damn good general purpose alternative. I also use ArcPAD 7.1 and find that I have less to carry in the field.
The costs seem to be equal in the US, but the option of being self reliant is much more appealing.

Hey Yay 4 Juggs....

Have you been happy with Garmin so far? I am a Garmin fan personally...use their standalone units. I tried their mobile on a friends phone and it seemed to be lacking a lot of POIs - places that have been there for a while don't show, etc.

How often do they update POIs and maps? Where do you download the updates?

Any info you have would be appreciated!

Thanks,
-David
