Speed tests me in LA but am in SF - new ROM

Anyone else experiencing this? When I was on the old Sprint ROM, 2.17 was it... when running speed test, it showed the servers in San Francisco, CA as the closest ones. But after installing the new ROM, it shows Los Angeles, CA servers as closest. O_o

Any insight is much appreciated!

Re: Speed tests me in LA but am in SF - new ROM

I have the same problem, but I think it started before the newest sprint rom. I'm in Florida, but when i do the speed test on speedtest.net it shows my location all the way north in New Jersey... I'm on the DCD 3.0.1 rom and using wmwifirouter. One thing to note is my phone number is a manhattan number, i didn't change it when i moved, so maybe that has something to do with it.

SpeedTest.net thinks I'm in OH while I'm actually in South Florida. I'd say it has something to do with Sprints routing, do a traceroute and find out.

Re: Speed tests me in LA but am in SF - new ROM

the speed test websites have no idea where you actually are it all has to do with what IP address (or internet address ) your phone picks up. Sprint doesnt always give out an IP address that is close to you. the fact thats ome of you even are close to where you rreally are is pure luck.
Im in St.louis and every time I speed test from my home systems, phones or even my webservers it thinks im in a different place.

Nothing to do with routing, it's where the IPs are allocated and what IP Geolocation data sprint set on the IPs. It's a guestimate, it's only remotely accurate for static connections (like cable or DSL).

If that is true, I don't understand the trace route.

Code:
traceroute to 68.30.55.34 (68.30.55.34), 30 hops max, 40 byte packets

I live in South Florida, so I don't understand the routing in that case. 18 hops, none of them are any close to me
