Can't connect to EV network -- anyone seen this?

How's it going guys. I'm new to the forum, but, it has been invaluable so far. Thanks for that!

On to my issue. 2 weeks ago I received 2 brand new Moguls from Sprint. Since first turning it on, I have not been able to connect to the EV network for any browsing. My wifes phone seemed kind of iffy, but, as of 3 days ago her's hasn't come off it once.

My phone always shows me the EV box with however many bars are available at the time. The problem is when it tries to connect (#777), it hesitates for a bit and then ALWAYS flips to 1X and starts browsing.

Now, I live in a strong signal area so that isn't the issue. As well, my wife's phone sitting right next to mine will browse all day long on the EV like it was paid to. I have spent a couple hours on the phone with tech support doing EVERYTHING they can to help, including multiple hard resets.

I have the updated ROM and radio, as I was hoping that would fix things. Any ideas or am I really going to have to take this thing to the shop and get a new one?

sounds like a good question... what kind of device are you using?

Mogul PPC-6800
No extra programs to blame, as hard resets did nothing for the problem.

I know its not the solution you want to hear but why cant you take it to the store and get a new one? If you just got it they should trade it in without a problem. I'm not sure how many people here will have a solution for your problem.

Do you have the ROM upgrade? http://www.htc.com/us/FAQ_Detail.aspx?p_id=75&act=sd If not do that first.

If not go to the sprint.com page and look and see if you have Rev A EVDO were you are using your Mogul. It could be that you don't have it in your area.

I have the ROM upgrade. It didn't work without it either.

My wife's phone is not upgraded and hers works fine.

Try going to settings/Personal/Phone/Services/Internet

Click Get settings, then start IOTA.
