Internet not working

Updated my phone today, wifi is working fine, but the EVDO is not working at all in IE, or my AIM or google maps

in IE it just sits at locating for a while then a box just pops up and says This page cannot be found. Check the name and try again.

Any settings I can get edit?

Thanks :)

I am very, very sorry if you've answered this before, but did you hard reset after flash and let the customizations run? Hate to keep asking everyone but it is VERY important that you do this.

Re: Internet not working

no a hard reset is holding both softkeys down then pressing the soft reset button with the stylus...from there you will slide open your keyboad then press r once that is done press space bar to boot.

Re: Internet not working

Or you can do Start > Settings > System > Clear Storage.

Let the customizations run and then try to connect to the internet. Once you can, you can hard reset and then soft reset before the customizations run if you want.

Re: Internet not working

For whatever reason I actually had to do a second hard reset last night to get my internet working. I just mention because doing it a second time would have saved me 2 hours last night on hold with Sprint support. I finally gave up, did the second hard reset and all is working fine now.

Re: Internet not working

i called sprint support too,no help. after i hung up i noticed that the sprint stuff was not on the today screen, did a hard reset and customizations installed. internet worked.
not sure why the customizations didn't install with the rom upgrade, i didn't skip it, i just ran the rom update program and walked away, came back and it was done.

Re: Internet not working

I did the update at work yesterday. On my way home i noticed my internet wasn't working. I called *2 and talked to someone there. After hanging up my phone to talk to the tech guy on another phone it just magically started working. :headbang: Didn't do a hard reset or anything. Some how making a call made my phone provision itself.

Re: Internet not working

I had the same problem. I flashed to the new ROM, then installed DCD's kitchen.

It turns out that my phone wouldn't provision itself after DCD was installed. To get it working again, I reflashed to the stock ROM and connected to the internet. Once the IOTA was finished, I then installed DCD and all was good.

I hope this helps someone.

Re: Internet not working

You NEED to let the customizations run. I did not have success letting them run and then hardresetting and stopping them from running. You need to just let them run and go from there, because otherwise you wont get IOTA and your data cannot be provisioned.

some error came up that a file named PPCT.exe ( or something similar to that) could not be found

Just to clarify, the customizations did run on my first run-through, but I still didn't get IOTA. I think my specific problem was that I installed both stock and DCD while my phone was connected to my PC, so it wasn't able to make an internet connection.

Re: Internet not working

I let mine run thru after download and did hard reset but it did not take for internet to work either, of course I did spend that time on phone with Sprint and they were trying to send me a updated link to new rom saying they fixed the problem. I told the girl I did not think HTC had the time in one afternoon to make a new rom. She read the version and I said same one I have.

Re: Internet not working

Well, I had the ROM working fine, I was using everything today, and using WIFIROUTER which worked pretty well. Later in the day, phone stopped working. It says Error 67, registration failed. when I run IOTA, it fails as well, saying username and such might be wrong.

what IS going on?

Re: Internet not working

I declare shenanigans everyone get their brooms.

I've been using DCD's 3.0.0 rom for a couple of days and everything has been working great. I was surfing while tethered most of the morning today and even googled something on my mogul during lunch (approx 1 p.m. PST). When I returned from lunch nothing (WMWifi Router, Wireless Modem, Opera & PIE) could connect. Every attempt to connect ended with a 67 error.

In a fit of paranoia, I looked over my registry and changed some things. All systems are go now. I'm not sure if Sprint was having a network failure or deploying new and improved broadband deprivation shenanigans. I'm inclined to think that they were experiencing network difficulties.

Re: Internet not working

If anyone is still getting the 67 error please post and I'll start a thread showing my registry edits.

Re: Internet not working

Folks, I had the same exact issue this morning. Internet was working perfectly fine in the morning then about an hour ago I get a variety of messages from Error 67, to 1012 to #777 can't connect. I have new stock ROM with minor hacks. NAMELY, I ran the tether hack.

I had to rename the rilphone2.old to rilphone2.dll and re-run IOTA just so that my internet would work. I even thought it was the Rev A enable hack that was causing it, but after a few tries and resets, it wasn't the cause. I'm pretty sure it had something to do with the rilphone2 file. Wondering if Sprint caught onto the tether hack. To add more fuel to the fire, I am a SERO customer.

Re: Internet not working

My phone jus messed up too. Same as papertrader, I last used my internet around 1 pm and now it keeps giving me the error 67 and 1012 and wont connect. I ran the IOTA and it comes back wit the codes. I was on DCD's last ROM then upgraded to the latest stock ROM and then to DCD's new ROM. Did I do something wrong or is this happening to everyone?

Re: Internet not working

Crazy....I just soft reseted my phone like 5 X's then tried the internet and it worked. I was started to get scared cuz I go to work in an hour and without internet i'd be SOL lol

Re: Internet not working

I'm also having the same problem today (67 and 1012 errors). Worked for a bit after a few soft resets but back to not working. I put the rilphone2.dll back into the registry and will see what that does.

Wipeout 03-14-2008 06:20 PM

Re: Internet not working

Yeah, putting the .dll back into the registry didn't do anything - 1012 when attempting to initiate IOTA and 67 when trying to just open something that dials #777.

Re: Internet not working

Same issue with me. rilphone.dll was deleted yesterday, tethering was working fine up until around noon PST today. Funny thing is, everytime I tried to tether, I get #67. However the internet on the phone still works after a 20 minute suspension per the Sprint website.

EDIT: I use usbmodem, btw.

From http://support.sprint.com/doc/sp1464...revPageIndex=3

"NOTE:
Repeated entries of an invalid password during a 24-hour period will result in a 20-minute suspension of your username. A suspended username may not be used until the suspension expires, even when submitted with the correct password."

After the #67 error, I disconnected tethering and waited 20 minutes. Sure enough, my phone has internet again (just the phone).

Re: Internet not working

I'm going home and hard resetting, then installing my backup from before deleting the dll.

FYI, I was able to at least get a temporary connection by opening Internet Connection Sharing, clicking connect and then disconnect immediately.

Ahh ok, makes sense. I didn't know they had anything like that.

Maybe it was just something whacky with the sprint authentication servers, change locations, maybe they tried to SELL some of them? :-(

And we all got hit by the 20 minute rule.
